My unforgettable learning experience in the classroom when I was a student was when we had our return demonstration on medication administration. It was the very first invasive procedure that I performed to an individual. The anxiety was really high emanating from being conscious of how it will be done correctly and the pain I would inflict to my classmate. Performing return demonstrations work best in eliciting performance such as medication administration (parenteral route). Topics related to these skills should not end in one-on-one lecture rather be continued to an actual demonstration with a partner. The student will have the actual feel of needles being inserted and the sensation of sterile water in lieu of an actual medicine will render a real reaction to both practicing students.
