I suspect that it may feel rewarding to be acknowledged by a journal as a recent graduate. But it is saddening to learn how the zeal and pride of younger researchers is seen as a point of exploitation by predatory journals and conferences, that often require relinquishing intellectual copyright, with no transparent peer review processes in the first place. I hope that researchers adhere to research integrity, but also remain aware of their publishing options.
