There are several key features outlined in the video that creates an effective research question. To start, it should be relevant to the research topic. It should also be feasible - considering factors of specificity, measurability, and scope manageability.  By technicality, it should be clear and simple as it should be easily understood by readers of the research.

Additionally, are a few suggested steps to create a coherent research question. First is to identify a broad topic to research on, which will then be narrowed down by asking open-ended why’s and how’s. Further polish the question by applying the features mentioned beforehand such as specificity and measurability.  The video suggests starting questions with the basic ‘what, how, why’ to answer the ‘so what’ factor, or its relevance to the study.

a. Comparative Analysis of Preferences for Interactive and Traditional Art Forms in Metro Manila

Research Question: How do preferences for interactive art compare to traditional art forms in Metro Manila?

To explore this problem, the study will make use of a mixed-methods research design that combines quantitative surveying and qualitative in-depth interviews. This approach allows for a comprehensive understanding of audience preferences and artist perspective on the matter. The objectives are:

a. To assess public preferences between interactive and traditional art forms.

b. To analyze how demographic factors (age, background, etc.) influence these preferences.

c. To explore artists’ perspectives on the rise of interactive art spaces and its impact on their practice.

The study will be distributing an online survey to a diverse audience to gauge their preferences for interactive art (e.g., immersive experiences like the Van Gogh exhibition, space & time cube+) versus traditional art (e.g., paintings in galleries). The survey will include questions about engagement, enjoyment, and perceived value of each art form. Additionally, in-depth interviews will be conducted with artists who work in both interactive and traditional mediums to understand their views on the trend toward interactive art spaces and how this shift influences their artistic processes.

Quantitative data will be analyzed using statistical methods to identify trends and correlations, while thematic analysis will be employed for qualitative data to extract key themes from the artists’ insights. This research aims to provide a nuanced understanding of how interactive art is reshaping audience experiences in urban settings.

b. Adaptation of Korean-Pop Marketing Strategies in the Philippine Pop Music Industry

Research Question: How do Korean-Pop Music marketing strategies adapt and manifest in Philippine-Pop Music today?

To explore this, the study will employ a quantitative research design utilizing surveys to gather measurable data on the adoption and impact of K-Pop marketing strategies on P-Pop. The objectives are:

a. To quantify the prevalence of K-Pop marketing techniques among P-Pop entertainment companies.
b. To assess the effectiveness of these strategies on fan engagement and consumption behavior specific to P-Pop.
c. To evaluate the demographic factors (age, gender, location) that influence P-Pop consumption patterns.

The study will distribute an online survey to Filipino P-Pop fans, targeting a diverse demographic to collect data on their engagement with P-Pop content, brand loyalty, and participation in fan activities (e.g., streaming culture, merchandise purchases). The survey will include structured questions to measure interactions with K-Pop-inspired promotions, social media engagement, and perceived value compared to local artists.

Quantitative data will be analyzed using regression analysis to determine the relationship between K-Pop marketing strategies (independent variable) and fan engagement metrics specific to P-Pop (dependent variable). This method will allow for assessing how variations in marketing efforts affect outcomes such as purchase behavior and social media interactions. Additionally, descriptive statistics will summarize demographic information and levels of fan engagement within the P-Pop context. This will provide a detailed understanding of how K-Pop marketing is adapted for P-Pop in the Philippines and its influence on the local entertainment.
