- Site of injection: Anterolateral thigh
- Targeted muscle: Vastus lateralis
- Origin: Greater trochanter and linea aspera of femur
- Insertion: Patella via quadriceps femoris tendon, and then attached to tibiaol tuberosity via patella ligament
- Action: Extends leg at knee joint, and flexes thigh
- How to locate: Palpate side of thigh, below greater trochanter. Divide into three equal parts vertically, and inject at the middle third of the thigh.

- Site of injection/Muscle: Deltoid
- Origin: Acromial extremity of clavicle, acromion and spine of scapula
- Insertion: Deltoid tuberosity of humerus
- Action: Abducts arm, flexes and medially rotates arm
- How to locate: Palpate shoulder below acromion. Find the bony area at the shoulder, and inject at the fleshy part of the muscle, two fingers below the landmark.
