- Origin: Acromion, clavicle, and scapula
- Insertion: Deltoid tuberosity of humerus
- Action: Flexes, abducts, and extends the shoulder joint
- How to locate: Locate the acromion which is the bony prominence on the shoulder; Palpate for the deltoid muscle, about 2.5cm below the acromion; Trace an imaginary inverted triangle on the muscle and locate the center to administer the vaccine.
