- Action: Pulls corner of mouth inferiorly
2. Mentalis
- Origin: Mandible
- Insertion: Skin of chin
- Action: Protrusion of lower lip
3. Orbicularis oris
- Origin: Maxilla and mandible
- Insertion: Underneath skin of chin
- Action: Contracts lips
4. Corrugator supercilii
- Origin: Medial end of superciliary arch of frontal bone
- Insertion: Skin under the eyebrow
- Action: Move eyebrows medially and inferiorly, creating vertical wrinkles
5. Orbicularis oculi
- Origin: Medial bones of orbit
- Insertion: Skin around orbit margin
- Action: Closes eyelids
6. Occipitofrontalis
- Origin: Epicranial aponeurosis
- Insertion: Skin of forehead
- Action: Draws scalp back, raises eyebrows, creating horizontal wrinkles
