Reflecting on the lesson, choose one concept in our lesson today, give a brief explanation about the concept, and cite how would you apply this learning in your everyday life.

One concept of the immune system that resonated with me was the inflammatory response mechanism. It is a natural and rapid response that we experience every day that can get overlooked, especially with how the fifth cardinal sign–loss of function–can be alarming as chronic inflammation can lead to prolonged tissue damage. This is why understanding the concept of inflammation can help me reduce chronic inflammation by planning anti-inflammatory diets that include fruits, vegetables, and fish. Moreover, stress is also scientifically related to promoting chronic inflammation, which can be a sign for me to try activities that help reduce my stress levels.
