Body hair is one physical barrier included in the innate immune system, as it traps foreign object and debris from entering any opening or membrane of the body. Unfortunately, I have been taking body hair for granted by not acknowledging its purposes, and instead I remove it. Removal of body hair may cause the open pores to be a site of entry for bacteria and unwanted object-- this is why it isn't recommended for people to remove body hair unprofessionally. I shall take into mind that my body hair, along with my skin, nails, and mucous membranes have important purposes that should not be taken for granted. I will then take care of my body more, and not damage the physical barriers of my body just for aesthetics.
