Lymphatic system or “Lymphoid system” consist of a fluid called lymph. This lymph is being transported by the lymphatic vessel. Organs involved in this are lymph nodes, spleen, thymus, tonsils, bone marrow. The said organs work together to fulfil the primary function of the lymphatic system. To maintain fluid balance, filter harmful substances, and coordinate immune response against pathogens.

Given the information, we all can see how the lymphatic system plays a pivotal role in maintaining equilibrium and fighting different pathogens that negatively affect our body. Among the concepts that have been discussed for the lymphatic system, what stays on my mind is Innate and Humoral immunity. It may be already stated during activity but the activity made me understand it better. In short terms, innate immunity is a non-specific, immediate defense mechanism that is always prepared to respond, whereas humoral immunity is a specialized, adaptive response that develops over the course of time. Both give protection, although they differ in terms of time and mechanism specificity.

Applying this to daily life, it is critical for us to take responsible action in taking care of ourselves, including the food we consume, the activities we engage in, hygiene, and so on. Are all aspects that can either benefit or harm our system as a result of infections and other influencing factors. Specially now that a lot of viruses is spreading through out the world.
