The nervous system divisions involved in the sequence of events are the somatic sensory, somatic motor, autonomic parasympathetic, and enteric systems. The somatic sensory division is responsible for the reception of mechanical stimuli such as vibration from the alarm clock that prompt the body to wake up. Next, the somatic motor division, specifically the hypothalamus, is responsible for yawning, which is a semi-voluntary movement. Also, the somatic motor division is involved in stretching which is a voluntary movement. Then, salivation is caused by the autonomic parasympathetic nervous system, where salivary gland secretion is activated. Lastly, the stomach rumble is caused by the enteric nervous system found in the walls of the gastrointestinal tract.
