Her presented symptoms are those of Bell’s Palsy. Bell’s Palsy targets the facial (VII) nerve of the cranial nerves. This causes her face to be paralyzed, restricting her ability to close her right eye and losing taste and decreased salivation. Aside from facial (VII) nerve, the following are the other cranial nerves affected:

    • Loss of taste: Glossopharyngeal (IX), Vagus (X)
    • Dry mouth: Glossopharyngeal (IX)
    • Incapacity to close eye: Oculomotor (III)
