In general, the Facial (VII) nerve was primarily affected by the viral infection. The other cranial nerves involved per symptom are listed below:

Inability to move the muscles on the right side of her face:

Facial (VII) nerve: responsible for control of muscles of facial expression

Facial (VII) nerve: the sensory component of the nerve is responsible for taste from the anterior two-thirds of the tongue

Glossopharyngeal (IX) nerve: its sensory component is responsible for taste from the posterior one-third of the tongue

Vagus (X) nerve: its sensory component is responsible for taste from the epiglottis

Dry mouth:

Glossopharyngeal (IX) nerve: its motor (autonomic) component is responsible for the secretion of saliva

Facial (VII) nerve: its motor (autonomic) component is also responsible for the secretion of saliva

Oculomotor (III) nerve: responsible for the movement of the upper eyelid
