I am Assistant Professor Irma Almoneda, the faculty in-charge for N240. I am a retired military nurse when I joined UPCN and I am currently going 9 years in the service. I am the specialty coordinator for the Nursing Administration Track and at the same time the QA Officer. I am teaching both in the undergrad and the Master's Program. I am married with one son.

I gladly welcome you all in N240 and I hope we will all have a very engaging discussion given that all of us have varied experiences to relate with in this course.

In your Brief Self Introduction, please include your specialty, current job/position, length of service as it may deemed necessary to include your expectations of the course.  Additionally, kindly upload a profile picture that is clear enough being a part of knowing each other here in the N240 course.

Thank you very much.

Hello everyone!

Finally, my VLE account is now online.

You can call me EJ. I am an Operating Room Nurse in Philippine Heart Center for 6 years, NOMELEC- Chair of ORNAP for this term and under the specialty of Maternal and Child Health Nursing.

Currently I hold several projects aimed for quality nursing improvement, not only in the Operating Room, but also for the whole Nursing Service in PHC. I am all-in the utilization of electronic medical records, and digitalization of nursing forms. I am also an advocate of adequate staffing for cardiovascular surgeries. I am currently spearheading the hybrid-fluid staffing of the Operating Room and I am hoping that you, as true nursing administrators can guide me if what I am doing is good or acceptable to your knowledge and standards.

I am hoping that with this course I can learn from the best so that I can benchmark for improvements for our profession. I am excited to become part of this course and hoping that you can bear with me if I may raise concern as a staff and not as an administrator or manager.

Thank you.

Hello Ma'am Irma and everyone! I am only able to access my VLE now. My name is Marian Villanueva and I am in N-240 as my refresher course. I am on my last MRR extension as I am still working on my thesis at present. My major is on Mental Health Psychiatric Nursing, but I think I was already able to take all the Nursing Admin major courses because of my thesis. :-D
I am a Mental Health Psychiatric Nurse by specialty, and I used to work at the Psychiatry Ward of PGH for 12 years. I am at present am a Nurse Trainor in UP-PGH, and also doing some part time job as a Triage Nurse in a Telemental health platform. Much of my work and advocacies center on mental health care for individuals and for workplaces. I expect that this course will be a meaningful review for me of leadership and management concepts which is really important in my tasks a a nurse manager in our institution.
