  1. NECK MUSCLE: Platysma
    Origin: Fascia over pectoralis major and deltoid muscle
    Insertion: Mandible, blends with muscles around the angle of the mouth, and skin of the lower face
    Action: Draws outer part of lower lip inferiorly and posteriorly, depresses mandible

  1. MOUTH MUSCLE: Mentalis
    Origin:
    Mandible 
    Insertion: Chin’s skin
    Action: Elevates and protrudes lower lip and pulls skin of chin up

  1. MOUTH MUSCLE: Orbicularis oris
    Origin:
    Muscle fibers surrounding the opening of the mouth
    Insertion: Skin at the corner of the mouth
    Action: Closes and protrudes lips, compresses lips against teeth, and shapes lips during speech

  1. EYEBROW MUSCLE: Corrugator supercilii
    Origin:
    Medial end of superciliary arch of the frontal bone
    Insertion: Eyebrow’s skin
    Action: Draws eyebrow inferiorly and wrinkles skin of forehead vertically

  1. ORBIT MUSCLE: Orbicularis oculi
    Origin: Medial wall of orbit
    Insertion: Circular path around the orbit
    Action: Closes eye

  1. SCALP MUSCLE: Frontal belly
    Origin: Epicranial aponeurosis
    Insertion: Skin superior to supraorbital margin
    Action: Draws scalp anteriorly, raises eyebrows, and wrinkles skin of forehead horizontally
