How the food changes consistency and form?

The processes of ingestion, hydrolysis, and breakdown begin as the food enters the mouth or oral cavity. The bigger chunks of food are physically divided into smaller ones as we chew it. Salivary amylase will begin the chemical breakdown of starch as it is mixed with the food. Thereafter, saliva will start to stimulate. Producing a bolus that can travel through the esophagus is the objective. The food will subsequently be moved to the location where it will be digested after that. The bolus will melt down in the stomach and transform into a chyme, which is more fluid, before transferring through the intestines.

How the body was able to absorb the nutrients from the foods we eat?

After the food enters the stomach, the small intestine will be the next location. It generates digestive fluids that work with the liver and enzymes to help the body get the nutrients it requires. It is also responsible for hydrolysis and absorption of nutrients as this is the first part of the GI tract that takes in some of the breakdown food products that will be used for nutrition to make other products in our body.
