One concept I learned is how stress depresses our immune system. Truly, our immune system works hard to fight off disease-causing organisms to keep us healthy. However, when our stress leads to unhealthy actions such as skipping food, lacking sleep, neglecting hygiene, etc., we become more prone to sickness as we are not giving our bodies what it needs to function normally and healthily. As such, our immune system must work harder. Due to this learning, I realized that I must choose to be healthy in order to help my immune system.
