One concept I learned about our lesson is the antibody-mediated (humoral) immunity. It involves antibodies that bind to antigens in body humors or fluids and is mediated by antibody molecules that are secreted by plasma cells. This immunity will be strengthened by vaccines that provide antibodies to certain viruses because effective immunizations must induce long-term stimulation. This, I can apply in my everyday life by encouraging other people to get their COVID-19 vaccines to achieve the humoral immunity that their body needs to fight the virus.
