Stress can affect all parts of your life, including your emotions, behaviors, thinking ability, and physical health. No part of the body is immune. But, because people handle stress differently, symptoms of stress can vary. Symptoms can be vague and may be the same as those caused by medical conditions.

Stress is the body's response to difficult conditions, whether they are actual or only perceived as such. It has different effects on different people. Its causes also differ from one person to another. Based on my experiences when I am stressed due to different reasons, I often feel irritated, I feel a faster heart rate, and I tend to eat foods even though I do not feel hungry. At some point, it also becomes a helpful trigger to accomplish things that causes the stress to me.

Relating to the endocrine system and stress response, I knew why my body reacts that way when I am under the influence of stress. For instance, is stress-eating, it is because of the release of hormone, cortisol. Cortisol increases our appetite that increase our motivation to eat whenever we feel stressed.

This ensures that the activity of the endocrine system is rapidly regulated in a coordinated and precise way in order to serve the adaptive stress response and maximize the chances of survival against the imposed stressor.
