Individual stressors differ, and so do the consequences they cause us. Whenever I am stressed, my body usually responds with a diminished ability to focus, palpitations, and moderate to severe headaches.

When a person is stressed, the amygdala, a part of the brain, works to control and process his or her emotions. The hypothalamus is the region of the brain that stimulates the body's stress response, which then travels to the adrenal and pituitary glands, both of which are components of the endocrine system. They are in charge of producing vast quantities of stress hormones such as prolactin, norepinephrine and cortisol. Furthermore, some hormones also act as neurotransmitters, such as norepinephrine, which can constrict our peripheral vision in times of stress, often known as "tunnel vision."  Also, the adrenaline and cortisol that the body produces can cause a rise in heart rate and blood pressure when we encounter any sort of stress.

Various aspects of our behavior and physiological reactions can be observed, and these are normal and valid. However, excessive stress can be harmful to our physical, emotional, mental, and social well-being. Thus, recognizing and avoiding what causes these stressors can assist us in leading happier and less stressful lives.

I do relate with the "diminished ability to focus" and "moderate to severe headaches", Sam! But indeed, knowing our limits and identifying what stresses us the most will lessen the negativity in our lives, I hope I get to apply these as well. Thank you so much for sharing such insights!
