1. The activity will be handled by the parasympathetic nervous system. The organs that are involved in the process are listed below with their nerve supply and the effects of the nervous system to their function.

a. STOMACH
Nerve supply: Vagus nerve
Effects: Aids in gastrointestinal motility, enables peristalsis

b. PANCREAS
Nerve supply: Vagus nerve
Effects: Secretes enzyme

c. LIVER
Nerve supply: Vagus nerve
Effects: Increases secretion of bile

d. GALLBLADDER
Nerve supply: Vagus nerve
Effects: Secretes bils

e. SMALL & LARGE INTESTINE
Nerve supply: Vagus nerve
Effects: Regulates activities in the intestine

f. RECTUM
Nerve supply: Pelvic Splanchnic Nerve
Effects: Facilitates defecation

g. ESOPHAGUS
Nerve supply: Vagus nerve
Effects: Contraction of muscles which allows food and liquid to pass through

h. HEART
Nerve supply: Vagnus nerve
Effects: Reduces heart rate

i. LUNGS
Nerve supply: Vagnus Nerve
Effects: Lowers respiration rate, controls respiration level and intensity

2. The effects are the result of the sympathetic nervous system's response to the external stimulus. The near collision with the bicycle gave the brain a signal to be in distress. In addition, the fight-or-flight response significantly intensifies the body's reflexive response.
