The parasympathetic nervous system is involved in this process. The organs used were the following:

 

  1. Stomach

    1. Vagus nerve

    2. Increased motility, closing and opening of the sphincter

  2. Pancreas

    1. Vagus nerve

    2. Increase in enzyme secretion

  3. Liver 

    1. Vagus nerve

    2. Increased bile secretion

  4. Gallbladder

    1. Vagus nerve

    2. Release of bile

  5. Small intestine

    1. Vagus nerve

    2. Increased motility, closing and opening of the sphincter

  6. Large intestine

    1. Vagus nerve

    2. Increased motility, closing and opening of the sphincter

  7. Anus 

    1. Vagus nerve

    2. Enables defecation

 

2. Her fight or flight response was initiated, triggering the sympathetic division of her brain. This can be described by the  increased heart rate, goosebumps, and sweaty hands that she experienced.
