  1. The parasympathetic nervous system will be handling my body's after-dinner activities.

Some organs involved, their major nerve supply, and the effects of the nervous system on their functions:

 

Parotid glands - glossopharyngeal nerve (CN IX); controls volume of saliva

Heart - vagus nerve (CN X); regulates heart rate

Stomach - vagus nerve (CN X); digests food, secretes stomach acid

 

  1. My friend experienced a dangerous situation, thus causing her sympathetic nervous system or fight-or-flight response to be activated. This causes heart rate to increase, goosebumps, sweating, and trembling.
