For Anatomy, there are 6 subspecialties mentioned, namely:

  1. Embryology - Studies the first 8 weeks of the fertilization of an egg.

  2. Development Biology - Studies the complete development of an individual (from birth ‘til death)

  3. Cell Biology - Studies the structure and function of cells

  4. Surface Anatomy - Studies the external structures of our body and their relation to the internal parts of the body

  5. Gross Anatomy - Studies the structures of our body that are visible to the eye

  6. Systemic Anatomy - Studies the structures of the different systems of our body

On the other hand, for Physiology:

  1. Neurophysiology - Studies the functions of the nervous system

  2. Endocrinology - Studies hormones and their effects on our body functions

  3. Cardiovascular Physiology - Studies the function of the heart and blood vessels

  4. Immunology - Studies how the body is able to defend itself from diseases

  5. Renal Physiology - Studies the functions of the kidneys

  6. Pathophysiology - Studies the changes that occur from diseases and aging
