Choose one concept in our lesson today, give a brief explanation about the concept and cite how this learning can be applied in your daily life.

One concept that really takes me a while to reflect on is all about our skin. In the introduction of the integumentary system, the skin was defined as the largest organ of our body. It also covers the external surface, which is susceptible to infection, damage, or trauma. But what really caught my attention was that our skin reflects our emotions and is an indicator of our overall health, which I think is very true.

As a person who has seasonal, dyshidrotic eczema, a skin condition that causes small blisters that form on my hands caused by stress, or excessive sweating of my hands, at first I really don’t know what causes this condition or what kind of treatment I can do. But,  after learning about today's lecture, I am more aware of how important my condition is to every part and function of our skin.  For instance, the sweat glands' ability to produce sweat may be a sign that our body requires regulation. So, I, who learned from this lesson, became more aware of what to do in this situation, such as drinking more water to control the temperature.

Therefore, from now on, I will always keep in mind that our skin is not perfect, but it gets better if we take care of it as it serves to protect us from infection and maintain the balance in our body. With that, I believe that the best foundation we can wear is our healthy skin.
