The DNA sequence contains the instructions for arranging the amino acids, which serve as the building blocks of protein, in a particular sequence. There are genes on each strand of DNA that produce a specific protein. Subsequently, the protein created as a result of a gene's expression gets produced. Hence, with this matter, gene expression and protein synthesis can be viewed as two distinct processes for this cause.
