Which directional terms can be used to specify the relationships between:

  1. elbow and shoulder
    • The elbow is DISTAL to the shoulder.
    • The shoulder is PROXIMAL to the elbow.
  2. left and right shoulders
    • The left and right shoulders are CONTRALATERAL.
  3. sternum and the humerus
    • The sternum is MEDIAL to the humerus.
    • The humerus is LATERAL to the sternum.
  4. heart and the diaphragm
    • The heart lies SUPERIOR to the diaphragm.
    • The diaphragm lies INFERIOR to the heart.
