ACTIVITY 5: ANATOMICAL DIRECTIONAL TERMS

Which directional terms can be used to specify the relationship between:

a. Elbow and shoulder: Distal - The elbow is distal to the shoulder. 

b. left and right shoulders: Contralateral - The left shoulder is contralateral to the right shoulders 

c. Sternum and the humerus: Medial - The sternum is medial to the humerus. 

d. Heart and the Diaphragm: Superior - The heart is superior to the diaphragm. 

e. Knees and tibia: Superior The knees are superior to the tibia.

f. Liver and gallbladders: Inferior -The gallbladder is inferior to the liver.

g. Spleen and liver: Lateral - The spleen is lateral to the liver.

h. Kidneys and small intestines: PosteriorThe small intestine is dorsal to the kidneys. 

i. 3rd and 5th digits: LateralThe 3rd digits are lateral to the 5th digits.

j. Sternum and thymus glands: DeepThe thymus glands are deep to the sternum.
