2.)
Three organ-systems are responsible for regulating acid-base balance in body fluid, namely, the cardiovascular system, respiratory system and urinary system. Blood carries carbon dioxide to the lungs. The lungs allow for the release of carbon dioxide from the body (exhaling), which decreases the acidity of blood and other body fluids. Meanwhile, the kidney helps eliminate hydrogen ions, lessening the acidity of body fluids, while also regulating bicarbonate (a base).
