What is the importance of studying organs or the body at different planes and sections?
- Based on the lecture video of Sir Abad, I learned that the importance of studying organs from different planes and sections is that it gives different perspectives of the organs allowing us to view other parts of the organs; providing a comprehensive way of studying the organ. Modern technologies such as x-ray, MRI, and CT scans allow us to view different portions of these organs divided by the imaginary planes passing through the structure. The anatomical relationship of one part to another will also be understood, as explained by Betts and Desaix et al. (2017). In the occurrence of potential issues in the organs, we will be able to accurately pinpoint the sites of concern and inspect them using the ability to view the different parts of these structures.
