Anatomy as well as physiology have several subspecialties. Can you identify these subspecialties and explain what they specifically study?
Cell Biology is an example of subspecialty of Anatomy. It specifically studies cell structure and function. It revolves around the concept how cell became the basic unit of life. Another example is Gross anatomy. It deals with structures that can be examined without the use of a microscope. For the Physiology, an example of subspecialty is Neurophysiology which studies the evaluation of nervous system. Another one is, Pathophysiology which deals with the changes associated with the disease and aging.
Can you give your own example on how a structure of a body part is related to its function?
Since the structure of the body part plays a big role on how it works, an example of this is our fingers. Our fingers differ in length because this proportion makes it possible for us to grip things in variety of ways. Its complex and delicate structure has a span of movement and precision that made it possible for us to do variety of things.
