Give other examples of disturbances in the internal environment that can act as a stimulus.
Some examples of internal stimuli that we are all familiar with would be the thirst mechanism and fevers due to infections. Thirst mechanisms are activated when we get thirsty. When we get thirsty, the urge to drink water increases so that thirst will be reduced. Fevers due to infections also employ a negative feedback mechanism to bring back body temperature down to the human body set point or target value of temperature.
