Activity 2. Organ-System Level 

1. What are the organs that constitute each of the organ-systems above?

  1. Integumentary System - skin, hair, nails (fingernails, toenails), sweat glands, oil glands

  2. Skeletal System - bones, cartilages, joints

  3. Muscular System - skeletal muscle, smooth muscle, cardiac muscle

  4. Nervous System - brain, spinal cord, nerves, and special sense organs like eyes and ears

  5. Endocrine System - hormone-producing glands (pineal gland, hypothalamus, pituitary gland, thymus, thyroid gland, parathyroid gland, adrenal glands, pancreas, ovaries, and testes)

  6. Cardiovascular System - heart and blood vessels

  7. Lymphatic System - bone marrow, thymus, spleen, lymph nodes, tonsils

  8. Respiratory System - lungs, pharynx, larynx, trachea, bronchi, nose

  9. Digestive System - GI tract organs: mouth, pharynx, esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, and anus. Accessory organs:  salivary glands, teeth, liver, gallbladder, pancreas

  10. Urinary System - kidneys, urinary bladder, urethra, ureters

  11. Reproductive System - Gonads (testes for males and ovaries for females). Associated organs: uterine tubes, uterus, mammary glands, and vagina (for females) and epididymides, vas deferens, seminal vesicles, prostate, and penis (for males)
