1. What do you think are the reasons of high unmet need of FP in the Philippines?
Talking about reproductive health, such as modern family planning methods and sexual intercourse, is a taboo topic in our culture, one factor is the religion, during our younger years we are taught to preserve our virginity until marriage. In addition, infrequent sexual encounters may also attributed in the high unmet need for FP in the Philippines. Lastly, lack of knowledge of availability of FP in health centers is one reason.
2. What are ways you can suggest to increase the practice of FP in the country? Give least 1-2 suggestions.
Health education on FP should be prioritize, educate people what are the benefits of using FP and where to acquire once they have decided what FP they want to use. Also, we should empower everyone by letting them express their sexuality however they want, sexual interactions is a natural human process that is why we should provide them knowledge how to protect themselves should they ever engage in such activities.
