1. What is you opinion about the practice of family planning? Are you for it or against it?

I am for practicing family planning as it is a way for couples enjoy intimacy without worrying about possibility of having an  unwanted pregnancy. I am also for practicing using family planning as this empower the couple by having a choice on when they want to conceive a child and what methods they want to implement for them.

2. Are you in favor of the Reproductive Health Law and its provisions? Elaborate your answer.

I am in favor of the Reproductive Health Law, however I have reservations. I am in favor of the reproductive health law because it aims to provide the general public of services and facilities that are geared towards addressing reproductive health. I am also in favor of this law as it empowers women by giving them choice and knowledge on how they want to go about their reproductive health.

My reservations came from the section 7 of the law which prohibits minor from accessing modern methods of family planning without consent of parents/guardians. Minors are prone in experimenting and it includes with their sexuality, with the Philippines has one of the highest pregnancy rates among ASEAN member states (UNFPA, 2020), it is needed important that we give minors same privileges as adults in acquiring modern contraceptives.
