1. What is your opinion about the practice of family planning? Are you for it or against it?

  • Family planning is just as vital for newlyweds as it is for couples with one or more children. This enables them to talk about how many children they want and when they want them so that they can provide enough love, care, attention, and education to each and every one of them. Pregnancies separated by two or more years result in healthier kids and fewer medical issues for the mother . Preparing ahead for a child allows couples to steer clear of the social, physical, and financial challenges that come with unwanted pregnancies. Having said that, I am for family planning.

2. Are you in favor of the Reproductive Health Law and its provisions? Elaborate your answer.

  • The RH Law or the Responsible Parenthood and Reproductive Health Act of 2012, is a pioneering law that ensures universal and free access to methods on contraception, fertility control, and maternal care for all Filipinos, including underprivileged populations. It also establishes a provision of reproductive health education in public schools and acknowledges a woman's right to post-abortion care as part of her right to reproductive healthcare.

Personally, I am in favor of RH Law as this acknowledges the citizens’ rights to choose and make their own judgments based on their religious views, cultural values, and the demands of responsible parenting. Not only does it strengthen the family as a basic social autonomous institution, but it also promotes gender equality and women's rights. Furthermore, the RH Law will help in the reduction of population, as well as poverty, establishing a country capable of providing basic necessities for their family members. Through family planning, parents would be able to put more attention on their children’s health and basic needs.
