Nutrients are essential for staying healthy and strong, which helps our body function in our daily lives. Good nutrition is vital to children’s growth and development because adequate amounts allow the body to be healthy. This foundation can help them have a lower risk of developing severe medical conditions or complications in the future. The quote, “Good Nutrition is a foundation of a child’s survival, health, and development”, implies that good nutrition is a key in establishing the children’s basic needs for striving in life. I agree with this quote as it is true because the role of good nutrition is giving the child the ability to be resilient in terms of health. This resiliency will enable them to live, grow, learn, play, and participate in the activities in their daily lives (Unicef, n.d.). Moreover, the quote says that better nutrition can help the child to have a stronger immune system that would help fight communicable and non-communicable diseases (World Health Organization, n.d.). Aside from that, good nutrition ensures optimal brain development. This developmental stage is a vulnerable stage in which they need to build foundations that they will carry throughout their lives. In that case, good nutrition will help them to supplement adequate amounts of vitamins and energy for their body and mind.
