“Good Nutrition is a foundation of a child’s survival, health, and development”.
I totally agree with this quotation for a good and proper nutrition is incredibly important to ensure that a child stays and grows up to be healthy and strong. It is said that engaging in excellent nutrition early in development helps establish a foundation for healthy eating habits and practices that a child can apply all throughout life. Good nutrition for children is valuable to achieve their full development potential.
Child development is heavily influenced by nutrition. Good nutrition begins in the form of exclusive breastfeeding especially in the first 6 months of life. Thus it is essential for mothers to ensure that they’re consuming a healthy and balanced diet full of the vital nutrients that her and the child needs. Under-nutrition of a breastfeeding mother heightens the risk for malnutrition which could pose negative and critical consequences on the child such as delayed growth, weakened immune system, and impaired brain development which makes a child more prone in developing future illnesses. Growth during infancy is rapid and crucial. Hence, it is very much important that the energy and nutrient requirements of a newly born child is well-satisfied and should continue until later growth periods.
