- Draw the “cis” and “trans” conformations of linoleic acid.
- Arrange the following fatty acids according to decreasing melting point: stearic acid, linoleic acid, oleic acid, and palmitic acid.
- Draw the structure of 1-myristoyl-2-linoleoyl-3-oleoyl glycerol. What is its ester name (with suffix “ate”)?
- Arrange the following in the order of increasing melting point:
A. 1,2,3-trimyristoyl glycerol (a.k.a trimyristin)
B. 1,2-dimyristoyl-3-palmitoyl glycerol
C. 1-myristoyl-2,3-dipalmitoyl glycerol
D. 1,2,3-tripalmitoyl glycerol (a.k.a. tripalmitin)
