Think

  1. Why is our program called MS Health Informatics but the tracks are medical informatics and bioinformatics? Suggest a name change based on this reading.
  2. What is your academic background? Think about the personalization of competencies needed for you to attain the core biomedical informatics competencies.
  3. Read Section 36 of the UHC IRR. Which domains of biomedical informatics come into play?
  4. What competencies of health informatics professionals would be most useful in the implementation of universal healthcare?

Dig deeper

Now you’re ready to answer the driving question. The driving question is intentionally broad. Answer the question by taking into account your academic background and your vision of how you will use the education you receive in this master’s program after you graduate. Read this guide on how to craft an elevator pitch. Pitch the idea to the DOH secretary that a health informatics professional (you!) should be on the team that implements universal healthcare.
