This session takes you through the types of mutations, the causative agents of mutation and the repair mechanisms that the cell has. At the end of this session, you should be able to:

    • describe the different types of mutations 
    • assess how various agents of mutation exhibit their effects on the structure and function of nucleic acids
    • explain the various protective mechanisms and repair systems in cells

The following are the tasks for this session:

  1. Go through the Mutations and Repair lesson. 
  2. Answer a quick exercise on mutations and repair.
