Session 8 Guide

View

This session gives you an overview of the central dogma of life. This is the crux of how from our DNA, proteins are made or in other words, how our genetic material is translated to hands, feet, etc. Further, this session discusses the first step in the central dogma - DNA replication - how we ensure that that our DNA is faithfully copied to daughter cells. At the end of this session, you should be able to:

    • describe how a new DNA copy is synthesized
    • differentiate the replication process between prokaryotes and eukaryotes

The following are the tasks for this session:

  1. Go through the Nucleic Acid Replication lesson.Β
  2. Answer an 8-item quiz on the topic.
