Audiometry Review
The air conduction average at 500, 1kHz, 2kHz are averaged to determine the degree of hearing loss.
Degree of Hearing Loss:
Normal </= 25 dB
Mild Hearing Loss 26-45 dB
Moderate 46-60 dB
Moderate to Severe 61-75 dB
Severe 76- 90 dB
Profound >/=91 dB
Conductive Hearing Loss - Normal bone conduction threshold, air conduction threshold is higher than 25dB
Sensorineural Hearing Loss - Both bone and air conduction thresholds are higher than 25 dB and that the difference is within 10 dB
Mixed Hearing Loss - Both bone and air conduction thresholds are higher than 25dB and that the difference is greater than 10 dB
