From UP System IT:
There have been reported cases in the University of individuals receiving emails from someone disguised as a UP official requesting to provide one's bank information and/or confidential personal information. The display name of the email sender will be mimicking that of an UP official, staff, or faculty member, whose e-mail address is not that of UP's. (e.g. DANILO L. CONCEPCION <ceo@office--ceo.com>).
Please be extra careful and vigilant when receiving unsolicited emails asking you to provide confidential or personal information.
Upon receiving a suspicious email, immediately delete the message and report this to your respective IT/Computer Center.
Should you need further information with regards UP Mail security, kindly contact the ITDC helpdesk at (02) 376-3100, UP System VoIP# 2222, or send an email to helpdesk@up.edu.ph.
