Traditional lecture works best with me especially when the teacher conducts it in a lively and engaging manner. I have a favorite subject in College, that is, Medical-Surgical Nursing by a very good professor, Prof. Teresita Cantuba (next is Prof Rowena Villarama and Prof. Josie Udan). She delivers the subject using concept map approach for us to understand the topics better. During that time, the chalk board is still used that is why her concept map would always occupy the whole of the board, from one end to other, from top to bottom. Though her handwriting is not that good, her manner of delivery is so engaging that it stimulates the learners to think, engage in her questions and laugh at her intelligent jokes. The simplicity of lecture as a teaching-learning strategy makes it appropriate for Generation X like me. The one that makes it unique among others is the way the teacher delivers it and how she presents herself in front of the class. After all, the best visual aid for learners is the teacher herself.
