5 Bell’s Palsy affected muscles (format: muscle - action):
1. Frontalis - elevates eyebrows
2. Orbicularis oculi - closes eyelids
3. Orbicularis oris - moves the lips
4. Buccinator - maintains cheek tension
5. Platysma - depresses mandible
Mechanism of his muscle weakness:
-His muscles become weak due to the damage caused by inflammation of the nerve that controls a side of his face.
Other symptoms:
-Headache
-Tearing
-Drooling
-Loss of sense of taste (front ⅔)
-Hypersensitivity in ear of affected side
