a. Quadriceps femoris
- Action: Extends leg at knee joint and flexes thighs at hip joint
- Innervation: Femoral nerve
b. Biceps femoris
- Action: Flexes and extend the leg and thigh, respectively
- Innervation: Tibial and fibular nerves from sciatic nerve
3. Doing sit-ups
a. Rectus abdominis
- Action: Flexes vertebral column and compresses abdomen
- Innervation: Thoracic spinal nerves T7-T12
b. Transversus abdominis

- Action: Increases/decreases vertical dimension of thoracic cavity
- Innervation: Phrenic nerve originating from cervical spinal nerves C3-C5
