Hi! I am Patrick Migel C. Mercado. You can call me Miggy. I graduated from the same university in 2019. After passing the board exam, I immediately worked as a Registered Nurse in Maternity and VIP Services at Makati Medical Center. I am a general medicine nurse, and I am used to handling a wide range of patients, from neonates to dying patients. After 4 years as a staff nurse and a charge nurse, I recently got promoted to Nurse Educator in the same institution. I am a full-time nurse in the hospital and a national lecturer for 2 review centers.

I planned to take graduate studies in 2022 because I aimed for the new graduate program, the MSN-MHPEd. However, 2024 came, and I needed to get into graduate school to get promoted. For me, it is way more than that. I wanted to specialize in Palliative and Hospice Nursing because I think it is one of the neglected aspects of nursing, and this is possible if I enter a Master's specializing in Adult Health Nursing. I wanted to focus on giving the quality of life a patient deserves, especially if he/she is nearing death.

As an educator, entering a master’s program would widen my knowledge and expertise in the field of nursing, especially adult health nursing. I could share this not only with the new nurses at my hospital but also with the aspiring nurses. Furthermore, i really wanted to contribute on the field nursing and i think one of which if i will work hard to my graduate research.
