The concept that fascinates me the most is adaptive immunity, which allows our body to be able to recognize specific pathogens and foreign substances in the body. It is through this that our immunity for specific pathogens is developed. However, it also fascinates me how it can be too much for the body and make errors that attack the body instead. As a student nurse, and as a future professional in the medical field, it is important to understand that like adaptive immunity, other processes in the body do not only go a specific way. It is good to understand that the body is complicated, and while we have an understanding of the processes within, it does not always go in the direction that it should, and that from these, complications may arise.
