Our body fights pathogens inside and outside our body through immunity. Through adaptive immunity, the body should be recognizing the pathogens to prevent them from causing harm and diseases, but sometimes, the body is not able to keep up and fails. This exactly is how cancer develops. Cancer is a life taker not only in the Philippines, but in the whole world. There is still a lot to be studied in order to combat this disease, and as a current student nurse and a future health worker, I hope to further my understanding about immunity, specifically in combating cancer, through more research. I wish to provide the best care I could give to my patients through this initiative.
