1. Briefly describe the process of inflammation in an area that has been traumatized.

Inflammation is an innate immune response that occurs when an area of the body is injured. Inflammation-inducing factors such as histamine or cytokines are released, which causes vasodilation and an increase in vascular permeability, causing the characteristic redness and swelling. This occurs in order for more immune cells to arrive at the site of injury to fight off infection.

2. Choose one type of Immunity (Innate and Humoral) and explain how its mechanism protects our body.

Humoral Immunity is mainly governed by macromolecules called antigens and antibodies, and occur in extracellular fluids. The primary cells that spearhead humoral immunity are B cells, which produce antibodies that help fight off an infection.
